"A Gift for the New Year from American Bach Soloists" — Steven Winn, San Francisco Classical Voice
"A Baroque New Year's Eve at the Opera" will usher in the New Year at San Francisco's beautiful Herbst Theatre. Start an early night on the town with a dazzling program of arias, duets, and instrumental music from Baroque opera and concert, with plenty of time left for more celebrations in the evening or an early return home for a peaceful night. Bring your family and friends to celebrate a New Year full of wonderful music.
Soprano Nola Richardson makes her NYE debut, and back by popular demand, mezzo-soprano Sarah Coit, who brought the house down last year with her incomparable vocal pyrotechnics, will return for an encore performance. Jeffrey Thomas, who "draws crisp, vital playing from the ace baroque instrumentalists of American Bach Soloists" (Opera News), will conduct with his characteristic brio.
Join us before the performance and at intermission in the Herbst Bar & Lounge on the lower level of the theater for an inviting, no-host reception. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of champagne, sparkling rosé, red and white wines, and upscale cocktails designed by mixologist Davide Diana, all specially chosen to elevate their New Year's Eve experience. This gathering is open to all ticket holders, offering a chance to connect with fellow attendees and share in the excitement of the performance. Doors open at 3pm. It's a great way to begin the festivities. See you there!
