"Hélène Brunet stands out with a voice of perfect beauty and a radiant stage presence" — L'Opéra, Revue Québécoise d'Art Lyrique
"The excellent soloist at the American Bach concert was YuEun Gemma Kim, who played with brilliant sound" — San Francisco Classical Voice
Enjoy a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the holidays as the musicians of American Bach present “A Baroque Christmas.”
Baroque composers wrote exquisitely beautiful music for the Christmas season. From the sweet, restful simplicity of Vivaldi’s concerto “for Holy Christmas” to the pastoral elegance of the Concerto for Two Recorders by Bavarian composer Johann Christoph Pez, dulcet sounds will grace your ears in this unique program, specially curated by American Bach artistic director Jeffrey Thomas.
Torelli’s mysterious Concerto in G Minor and Corrette’s charming symphonies of French noels will lead the concert to its celebratory ending when soprano Hélène Brunet, possessing “a voice of perfect beauty,” will perform Handel’s Gloria, a glistening work for solo voice that was discovered only 25 years ago!
