HELENE ZINDARSIAN (soprano) is a native San Franciscan whose love of early music began at a young age. By the age of five, Helene was already a regular in the church choir, where she was introduced to a treasure trove of beautiful and exotic Armenian church hymns dating from the 5th century. Her performing arts background includes thirteen years of intensive ballet training, studies at the American Conservatory Theater, and a degree in Dramatic Art from U.C. Berkeley.

An impromptu performance in an Italian palazzo led to her professional debut in San Francisco where she was chosen to be the soprano soloist in a world premier production set to Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn with the San Francisco Ballet Company.

Helene performs regularly throughout the greater Bay Area with ensembles both large and small, including Philharmonia Baroque, San Francisco Symphony Chorus, San Francisco Opera Chorus, and the Carmel Bach Festival. She has been a featured soloist with the Marin Symphony, AVE Artists’ Vocal Ensemble, Sanford Dole Ensemble, and at the Robert Mondavi Winery. Solo appearances with Philharmonia Baroque include Campra’s Requiem, Purcell’s Birthday Ode for Queen Mary, Rameau’s Grand Motet, Handel’s Samson, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and Rosenmüller's Magnificat.

She recently performed Berlioz's Les nuits d’été with the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra, a group with whom she earned acclaim for her interpretation of Strauss’s Four Last Songs on a prior tour.
