| DELIA VOITOFF-BAUMAN (contralto),has been soloist with The San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Berkeley Opera, West Bay Opera, Oakland Symphony and Chorus, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Redwood Symphony and Mendocino Music Festival. Critically acclaimed for her solo singing of Brahms, Mahler and Verdi, she is equally at ease singing both early and modern music. Since joining American Bach Soloists for the 2004 recording of Handel’s Messiah, Delia has sung with ABS for the Mark Morris Dancers, and as a chorister and alto soloist in the ABS 2006 concerts featuring American Bach Choir. Ms. Voitoff-Bauman is an honors graduate with a master’s degree in vocal performance from San Francisco State University and since 1981 has been a chorister with San Francisco Opera. During the 2004-2007 concert seasons she was soloist in many concerts with San Francisco Symphony English horn player Julie Ann Giacobassi and harpist Douglas Rioth, and soprano/composer Deborah Kavasch. In addition to Bach their concerts featured John Marvin’s arrangement for contralto, English horn and harp of “Ratmir’s Aria” from Glinka’s opera Ruslan and Lyudmila as well as new ensemble pieces by both Marvin and Kavasch (www. FishCreekMusic.com). San Francisco Classical Voice wrote “Voitoff-Bauman sang with soulful eloquence” and in her March 2009 return solo engagement with Cantare Con Vivo, “revealed the opulence and depth of a contralto” in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with conductor David Morales. Delia is proud to participate from both sides of the podium in programs such as American Bach Soloists with Jeffrey Thomas and Cantare in the East Bay that inspire more young musicians in our community.
