| NAOMI LOPIN OSBORNE (mezzo-soprano) has an extensive background as a classical musician and performer, including repertoire from the symphonic, operatic, and choral literature, with professional engagements in New York, New England, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Naomi is currently section leader and soloist with the First Unitarian Universalist Society in San Francisco, and has also sung with the American Bach Soloists, San Francisco Renaissance Voices, Artists Vocal Ensemble (AVE), the Josquin Singers, Amato Opera, Leiderkranz Opera, St. Bartholemew's Cathedral, Opera Lyrica, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and the New York Choral Society, among others. She holds a degree in Music with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, including several years of madrigal and opera intensive study. She has been the founder, director, conductor and principle arranger of three a cappella groups, and will direct the Sandy Island Bombers into their 18th season. She was a recipient of the Dorothy Ornest Award for Vocal Excellence in 1992, and currently studies voice with Sheri Greenawald at the SF Opera. |
