ZACH MAUPIN (horn) is an active Bay Area musician who plays principal horn in the West Bay Opera and third horn in the Vallejo Symphony. He also plays regularly in the California, Monterey, Stockton, and Santa Cruz County Symphonies, and teaches horn at the Community Music Center in San Francisco. In 1993, Zach went to London to study the natural horn with Anthony Halstead and Andrew Clarke at the Royal Academy of Music. From 1997-1999, he was a member of the Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico. Currently, Zach can be heard on the newly released cast recording of La Boheme on the DreamWorks label. Zach holds a master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College. His teachers include David Krehbiel, Bruce Roberts and Martin Webster.
