| RICHARD CHEETHAM (sackbut)
has played sackbut with most of Europe's leading early music ensembles, and in particular with Jordi Savall's Hespèrion XX. He also played trombone with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe for twelve years, during the ground-breaking partnership of COE and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Research into the performance practices of sixteenth-century Spain led him to form the Orchestra of the Renaissance, with whom he made 7 CD recordings.
During the academic year 2001-2 he was Visiting Associate Professor In Historical Performance at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. He is, however, best known to Bay Area audiences as Musical Director of the 2002 Berkeley Festival’s equestrian ballet extravaganza, “Le Carrousel Du Roi.”
