| ZACHARY ISAAC CARRETTIN (violin)
is an active violinist and composer. Zachary completed his
Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees at the Rice
University Shepherd School of Music, where he pursued classical
violin studies with Kenneth Goldsmith and Sergiu Luca. While
a graduate student, he was concertmaster of OrchestraX and
performed with that ensemble frequently as soloist, including
the Texas premiere performances of John Corigliano's
Chaccone for violin and orchestra as well as Piazzolla's
Revolucionario. In 1999, Zachary was a first violinist
with the Bergen Philharmonic, Norway. As a baroque period
violinist, he has performed with the American Bach Soloists,
Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, Portland
Baroque Orchestra, Trinity Consort and the San Luis Obispo
Mozart Festival Orchestra. He is violinist/violist with Portland's
ensemble Magnolia, offering historically informed performances
of repertoire from the 17th century through the 20th century.
As violinist of Duo Duende and violinist/leader of Los Peregrinos,
Zachary has performed the contemporary tango-influenced compositions
of Raymond Granlund in Central America and across the U.S.,
including a performance at the Wolf Trap Center for the Performing
Arts, as part of a show entitled "Face of America".
As composer/violinist with California vertical dance troupe
Project Bandaloop, Zachary has performed his own compositions
in South America and across the U.S.
