DANNY BOND (bassoon) received his solo diploma with distinction in period bassoon from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1977. He was then appointed teacher at the conservatory, a position he held until 1992. Over the years, he has played with most early music ensembles in Europe including Concentus Musicus, Academy of Ancient Music, Frieberg Baroque Orchestra, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Leonhardt Ensemble, La Petite Bande, and Musica Antigua Amsterdam. He is currently principal bassoon with Frans Bruggen's Orchestra of the 18th Century in the Netherlands and Nicholas McGegan's Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in San Francisco. As well as numerous orchestral recordings, he has also recorded the Mozart Bassoon Concerto and Vivaldi Concertos with Hogwood and the Academy of Ancient Music and sonatas of Boismoitier, Corrette, Devienne, and Ozi.
